Our Campaign Is Not Over Yet!

So many people have written hoping we continue the fight, count every ballot and make sure no one steals this election. Acorn and the unions did their best to try and prove that the conservative movement was a shame. Rest assured they will not succeed. On Election Night the information we received was far different from that we received this week! They will silence our voice that easily!

There is also the fact that NY is using the Sequoia Voting Systems machines. Princeton University (http://citp.princeton.edu/voting/advantage/) cited them as having been susceptible to voter fraud in the past. There’s a reason why the State of California BANNED them. Yet we must now prepare for this likelihood as well!

We are working to get the message out that this election is far from over! Our campaign and the New York Conservative Party is watching this recount and preparing for our next course of action. On Friday Doug has appeared on Cavuto on FoxNews and will appear on Glen Beck’s radio show on Monday. It is a call-to-arms for conservatives. Help however you can; post blogs, comment on websites and donate to help us mount a challenge if need be!

Earlier this month I attended a Republican Woman’s Dinner, the main speaker was a well-known Republican Conservative Talk Radio Host.  He made a strong point that Republicans need to start giving money directly to the Candidates, NOT the GOP.  This was quite a shock for most of the audience; such a powerful statement from a man who claims he did not become a Conservative rather that he was born as a Compassionate Conservative.
He used his own district as a recent example as to how our own State GOP has not learned from the recent loss of John McCain as the Republican Presidential nominee.  The people in his district had a woman they supported for their Representative, she was somebody they all knew, trusted and most importantly, she was a strong CONSERVATIVE candidate.

The state GOP came in and told them they had another person they planned to support as the Republican Candidate. The local group objected; they knew nothing about the person the party was endorsing and, from what little they did know, it appeared that the party choice was not representative of the type of conservative they wanted to represent them. They wanted a TRUE Conservative, not another Arlen Spector.

What better example do we have on a national level than the Special election for New York’s 23rd District for the seat of former Republican Rep. John McHugh (now Secretary of the Army). Obama chose McHugh for the new Secretary of the Army hoping to replace his seat with a Democrat, It is noteworthy to mention that this seat has been held by a Republican for the last 100 years. There was no primary to select a candidate, the GOP hand picked Dede Scozzafava, an obvious liberal who even won the endorsement of Daily Kos. She supports abortion, same sex marriage, and has been criticized for her past acceptance of the ballot line of the Working Families Party which has a close affiliation with ACORN. Scozzafava also has ties with local labor leaders, and she votes more often with the Liberals than she does the Conservatives. What possible reason would the GOP have to select a liberal Republican to run against a liberal Democrat? Have they completely lost their grip on reality or are they just not listening to the conservative voters? If Doug Hoffman loses this election, and the seat is turned over to the Democrats, I blame the GOP, not the voters!

I was even more disillusioned when I learned the National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas), Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael Steele, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) all backed Scozzafava! To add insult to injury, Newt Gingrich, one of the few prominent conservatives, also endorsed her. How are we supposed to trust these people who are in national leadership positions of the Republican Party?

Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party Nominee, was supported by a few brave Republicans that had the courage to back the candidate they believed to be in the best interest of our country, not just following the leadership. The early supporters of Hoffman have earned our respect; this list includes Sarah Palin, Senator Fred Thompson, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Michele Bachman!

“Best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine. Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.”

“Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.”

Nearly a dozen Republican members in leadership positions  announced their endorsements of Hoffman Thursday, such a transparent position to take once Scozzafava withdrew from the election! What the Republican Party seems to be missing is that there are more Conservatives than Republicans. If they want to build the party back into a position of power, they need to stop promoting moderate and left-leaning Republicans.

Newt has been saying that we need to have some moderates in the Republican party, apparently the voters under the current political climate, do not agree with this position.  I do have to give him credit for posting on his site, newt.org the headline: “I Am Endorsing Doug Hoffman”.  If you go to his forum he is really being beat up for having supported Scozzafava.  He posted the following statement:

Scozzafava did the statesmanlike thing in dropping out.

Clearly the race has evolved into a contest between a conservative and a pro-Pelosi, tax increase, big government liberal Democrat.

This is both a tribute to the power of the national conservative movement to define an issue and a commentary on the populist anger against politics-as-usual.

The New York GOP has now had two troubled special elections and it is clear they should go to a primary nominating system so everyone will feel it was fair and open.

The age of party leaders picking people is over.

I am endorsing Doug Hoffman and believe everyone who wants to create jobs with lower taxes and to control spending and deficits should vote for Doug Hoffman Tuesday.

I would also like to note that in the past few months, I sent a small contribution directly to Doug Hoffman, Michele Bachman and a couple other Conservatives I support in different states. My contributions were small,  but every dollar they get counts and if enough of us do that, it really can add up. Today I received mail from John Boehner, Republican House Leader. On page 3 he states:

We can and must win.

I am asking grassroots Republicans all across the country to come together to foucs your resources and energy on the most important goal our Party has for 2010, ending the reign of Nancy Pelosi and stoppping her liberal agenda.”

As with ALL communication from our Republican Leaders, included was a “Pledge of Support”. I used to send my donation, then I began throwing them away; this time I’m returning the survey with a simple note:

I am sending my money directly to candidates that I support. I no longer trust your judgment when it is apparent that the good-old-boy system takes priority over the party members and am not interested in “More Politics as Usual”. Until our leaders began working to restore true conservative politicians back into the Republican Party and help get them elected to office, I will place my trust in my own judgment. There seems to be very little communication between those of you making the decisions and the voters. You need to make more of an effort to create open dialog with the grassroots base, rather than wasting money on repeatedly sending me almost identical surveys. It appears to me the only purpose for those surveys is to ask for contributions. I am not an ATM machine, I have opinions that I want someone in the party to hear and respond to.

On October 31st RNC Chairman Michale Steel Statement on New York 23 Special Election … which is published on the GOP web site : http://www.gop.com/ … released a statement, in part he said:

“The Republican National Committee respects Dede’s decision to suspend her campaign. This selfless act of releasing her supporters provides voters with the opportunity to unite around a candidate who shares Republican principles and will serve the interests of his constituents in Congress by standing in opposition to the liberal policies of President Obama and Speaker Pelosi.“

The following day  The Republican leadership was once again duped as  Dede Scozzafava might just have well as  spit in the face of Michale Steel when she  announced her endorsement of her former Democratic opponent!  It was reported that the GOP has supported her campaign  to the tune of approximately $900,000. OUR Money, the voters from the Republican base, people like you and I, ones that expect the GOP to listen to the party members who strongly support Conservatives over Moderate Liberal leaning Republicans.

How, when I live on the opposite coast and am not involved in any political leadership role, could I  be aware that this woman does not follow  Conservative principals and should never  been chosen by the upper echelon of the GOP, as a candidate to represent our party.   Conservatives all over the country were outraged.

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that Scozzafava is “not just a liberal Republican, she’s more liberal than many of the Democrats.”

On Sunday, before Scozzafava’s announcement, senior Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett said on ABC’s “This Week” that the administration “would love to have her support.”

Jarrett painted the GOP as drifting from the mainstream. “It’s rather telling when the Republican Party forces out a moderate Republican, and it says, I think, a great deal about where the Republican Party leadership is right now,” she said.

She is partly correct … but the GOP is NOT drifting from the mainstream … they are drifting from the Conservative Base, the Independents  and all the other Moderate Conservatives that want nothing to do with this radical left leaning Administration.

I think it’s important to use this issue to make a point to our Republican leaders. Below is contact information for the primary leaders who supported Scozzafava, they need to hear from you! We are on the verge to losing our Country if the Republican Party does not wake up and learn that No More Politics as Usual applies to them!
