Dear Mr. President, Senators and Representatives

(NOTE: Two subscribers of Moveon Up Online,  have written and sent the following  letter to President Obama, Pelosi,  Schumer, Gillibrand, and Higgins.  They have requested that I post their letter here, and asked their names remain anonymous).

I am writing you today as my heart is heavy. You see I am worried about my beloved country, the United States of America. I have often believed change was good. So it was with a hopeful heart that I waited to see the change our new President would bring. You see, at first I was set to support the new administration.

My first disappointment was the stimulus package; the amount of money that came from taxpayers is going to bankrupt my grandchildren and their descendants.  Do you all treat your own households so nonchalantly? It’s not a burden I wish to leave them with. To have this bill pushed and rushed just doesn’t seem like good judgment to me. I have always believed organization does not come from chaos. I almost fell over when I learned no one even read it! Senators and Representatives–the people we put in office and PAY, signed a multi-billion dollar bill WITHOUT READING IT! In their day-to-day lives, would they sign a contract to repaint their homes without reading it? That is something we learn as children! So why is it that our elected officials just don’t bother to do so? That’s not the way to run a family, a business and definitely not the way to run a country.

Next came the take over of GM and bank bailouts. Why? This is America . Government does not get involved in running businesses. To hear, “Bush did it first” is no excuse. I shouldn’t have to tell my President and representatives the same thing I tell my kids: “If your friend jumped off a bridge does that mean you would too?” Run the country Mr. President…leave the businesses to their owners–the shareholders and the Boards.

Third is putting people back to work–the reason for the stimulus in the first place. There are thousands of unemployed people in the San Joaquin Valley in California for whom employment would not take trillions of dollars–it would just take turning the water back on! How silly is this action? It would be humane to put these people back to work. I worked retail…I know by putting farmers back to work that it puts truckers back on the road and gives jobs to stock boys, clerks and cashiers. I am sure putting people before fish is the right thing to do. WHERE IS YOUR COMMONSENSE?

I am also upset about health care. It needs fixing that is true…BUT fix what’s broken; don’t replace it with another plan that may or may not work. Get back to what is really most important: the economy. I do not like a public option, I’m in favor of opening up the insurance companies’ ability to operate from state to state. That is the best way to ensure competition–the government CANNOT run health care! For crying out loud, you can’t even run a CLUNKERS PROGRAM properly! I know Medicare is run by the Government, and it’s in trouble. That is why government should stick with what it knows best…national defense (which you are likewise messing up right now!). Leave medicine and insurance to doctor’s and insurance agents. I’d love to know when insurance companies became Darth Vader and attorneys suddenly grew a halo!

Last but not least the czar’s. Van Jones was a disgrace to the country as well as the Office of the President. Haven’t you people heard the phrase “too many cooks ruin the broth?” The President should spend less time on television and on the road, and more time running the country from the oval office. I’m beginning to think he likes to TiVo himself to watch over and over again! We didn’t elect these “czars.” We elected Obama.

Uphold the Constitution and the Nation you swore to honor and protect.  If you don’t you will be replaced in the next election by people who will. We owe it to our founding fathers to do so. It is their legacy left to “We The People,” and “We The People” will exercise our vote to keep it!

Dear Tim,

We cannot trust this administration. The March on Washington on 9/12 proved this. Never before has there been such a march. This was a major outcry from our people, the passion felt by thousand of citizens. Did it reach the President? Not only did he make sure he wasn’t in Washington, he gave it no thought. Our feelings, our goals, our passion for freedom mean nothing to him. This man has his own agenda. Glen back has outlined it clearly. It is socialism.

What can we do? Unite! Forgive me I do not know the date of the 60th anniversary of the communist revolution. Many Americans may not remember because we are not communists.
Tim

I think if we can get the word out, we can get every American across the country to wave our flag. The flag of freedom! The best thing we can do is make sure in 2010 we vote for those who hold our values close to there hearts. We need to hold this President in line until we can vote him out. United we stand; divided we fall. Fox not only covers the new truthfully, it gets the word out from state to state. As long as we know whats going on, we can make this administration accountable.

I have demanded that our President explain why they are going to fly the flag of red China on the 60th anniversary of the communist revolution. I asked one question. Does the administration now stand with the policies of Beijing? That was a month ago. I have not even seen an acknowledgement that they even received the email. Imagine that! Good luck with your excellent letter.

Tim

Yes very good! As Beck said ask questions and demand answers.
The President should answer to us, we need to remind him, he was voted in so he can be voted out!

What a great letter – well stated and concise, great use of examples; I doubt the author will even get acknowledged, but we can hope can’t we??

United We Stand Dived We Fall. What this administration dose we will hold accountable. Make sure we get the vote’s right in 2010! We do not need to be acknowledged by this administration. They have a agenda and so do we. Stay strong America.
