I’m new to blogging but have become so frustrated with our current political environment that I decided that it was time to start posting my own observations, thoughts, research and questions. I’m not getting answers from my own Congressman or Senator!
I’m a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. I am NOT, a crazed right winger who is part of a mob and supported by some lobby group. I AM an individual, one of many according to the polls, that represents real frustration with government spending and growth. Just because I disagree with the Health Care Reform doesn’t mean I need to be turned into the government … I was born and raised in America, and last I checked we still have freedom of speech. And freedom to disagree without being labeled as some member of a loony brain washed, mind controlled group. I’m still a free thinker and can research and find the information to answer a lot of my own questions.
In April of 2009 I turned 65 and officially became a senior citizen, who by the way was perfectly happy with my existing health care. 3 months prior to my birthday I was notified by my insurance company that if I did not take medicare and send them a copy of my medicare card, prior to my birthday, I would have my policy cancelled. Well, what government official made that choice for me. I didn’t want medicare! Believe me Medicare is not all that great. First try to find a doctor that will even take medicare, that’s a challenge. Health Care Reform has no plans on fixing current programs, ie medicare, medicaid or VA … so, my first question would be, if these systems are broken, how can we create completely new health care in addition to what we already have without fixing existing problems?
