Shuck and Jive

If one is to believe the press that our beloved President has been receiving from even the ‘Drive By Media’ lately, one must easily come to the conclusion that Barack Hussein Obama is rapidly coming unglued, and with good reason.  With all that he has done to this country in less than eighteen months, he’s obviously been a really busy boy.  Busy in a focused attempt to bring this country to it’s knees, and cause us to become a ‘third world’ country of socialists.  Or worse, a country of Islam. 

 

For more then a year of that time, he has had the advantage of his own personal media organization to inform each of us as to what we should think.  Something, however, has gone tragically wrong for the Anointed One.  In fact, just about everything has gone wrong.  Oh, he still reads brilliantly from his teleprompter, he’s still doing what he does best, campaigning for one thing or another, playing an outstanding game of golf, seeing to it that no one can corner him on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Yet no matter what he does, his approval rating sinks like the Titanic, deeper and deeper, every time he opens his ‘gifted’ mouth.  Even the wonderful teleprompter cannot seem to save him these days.

 

At least that’s the way is seems.  On the other hand, I see only one thing in his political self destruction.  I see him distracting We The People, once again, while the others in congress are putting together another bill that will drive the final nail in America’s financial coffin.  I say ‘another bill’ as if there is only one on the horizon.  No such luck.  Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the good little socialists are putting together a bucket full of bills, ranging from the financial overthrow of Wall St. to the destruction of the Second Amendment as well as the first, if we allow it.  All the time, BHO is keeping the eyes of We The People focused on his antics.

 

For nearly fifty days from the beginning on the problem in the Gulf, Barack Obama sat around the club house at the golf course torturing himself, unable to develop a strategy on how to ‘plug the damn hole’ and not being able to figure out ‘who’s ass to kick’ to get this problem to go away.   Well, I for one, do not believe it for a minute.  All he is doing is pulling the old magician’s routine of distraction.

 

You see, one day while hanging around the nineteenth hole it came to him.  “I’ll blame it on Bush, and then I’ll convince these idiots that the Cap and Trade bill is the only way to fix it.  I mean we can’t let a perfectly good catastrophe go to waste.  Besides, that’s about the only way we can get that ‘one legged turkey’ past the people.”

 

With that he spent a whole two days in the gulf area, with what’s left of his media snapping thousands of pictures of him picking up, maybe, as many as four oil/tar balls, then back to Washington to get ready to kick some BP ass. 

 

Next, he gets this Dutchman (chairman) in charge of BP that can barely speak English to sit down at his conference table to chat.  When their four hour lunch was over everyone made nice for the cameras again, and after the Dutchman insulted 80% of We The People, they went their ways.  Everyone’s happy, problem solved.  Right!!

 

In the first place, don’t kid yourself.  BP walked away from that table a very happy camper.  If all it costs them is $20 billion dollars to fix this mess, they will find themselves a great deal happier then they were afraid they would when this started.  A couple of weeks past BP officials thought it would be much closer to the $50 billion mark.  This way they will still have plenty left to add to their share holders coffers next year.

 

Here’s where the trouble really started for me.  Obama, makes one of the worst speeches I have ever heard from him, and this, my friends is where the ‘shuck and jive’ starts again.  By upsetting We The People with his obvious ineptness, and an even more obvious $20 billion dollar grab for the government, he thinks that we are stupid enough to actually believe him.  That we are not be capable of understanding the reason that he spent nearly two thirds of his speech talking about ‘clean energy’ and ways to reduce our dependence on oil, as a source of energy.  Now here is what I believe is going on while we are watching him ‘self destruct’.

 

The Kerry-Lieberman bill, known as Cap and Tax, (OK I’ll be good) the Cap and Trade bill, will do nothing less then put the United States Government in the pocket of every oil company, energy company, every company for that matter that produces ANYTHING that causes carbon to enter the atmosphere.  This really means ANYTHING that processes ANYTHING.  There is even language in the bill that has passed the House, that could allow the government to take control of the thermostat in your own private home, and decide for you how much heat or AC you need in your life.  Don’t you just love it?  The don’t want We The People to know they are about to be had (again), so the reason the Obama ‘shuck and jive’ act.  He draws attention to himself while the Congress does his dirty work. 

 

Now Obama has promised, many times, that there will be no need for any new taxes on the people.  Unfortunately, with Cap and Trade this is not exactly true.  No, they will not tax We The People……. directly at least.  Instead, they will slap any, and all, of your providers such as oil companies, utility companies, any company that produces goods and services, with a Carbon Credit tax.  The fact is, companies DO NOT PAY TAXES.  They add them to the cost of their goods and pass them along to, guess who, We The People. 

 

John Kerry (D-MA) has gone out of his way to tell the news media that the gas tax will not be raised, and he may be right.  They will not raise the gas tax, they will simply raise the cost of the gas.  See, the people are not being taxed, they are just being………….  maybe I should leave that alone.

 

These statements came from a story in Yahoo News.  Only a few lines, but very telling:  “According to a new study by Point Carbon “the Global Warming Bill authored by John Kerry (D-MA) and Joe Lieberman (I-CT) amounts to a new gasoline tax on American motorists.  As The Hill newspaper reports: Oil refiners would not participate in the trading system but would purchase allowances based on historic sales figures set aside each quarter. The companies would pass those costs onto consumers, resulting in the higher gas costs.”

 

Hmmm….. what was that old saying ‘A rose by any other name….. ?  I hate to tell the good Senators but this is still a tax.   Sadly, this makes it obvious to me that Obama will do anything to keep you from finding out what is going on until it is too late to stop it.  This monstrosity is waiting now in the Senate to be passed.  If it is not stopped we will soon be slaves to a government that our founders could not even have conceived of.

 

Another problem for me is that Cap and trade is not a one-time tax. Far from it.  This is  a new system of taxation, and it will allow the Congress to expand it endlessly into taxing every aspect of America’s energy and economy.

 

The Point Carbon study estimated this new energy tax will amount to $350 billion by 2020. But if a new cap and trade energy tax system passes this year, there is nothing to prevent a future Congress from increasing it next year, just as Congress is currently discussing increasing, and extending, a whole array of our existing taxes. 

 

First thing I will ask of every one who reads this is to call their Senators and make them aware that passing this mess WILL cost them their jobs.  Now or later.  Let them know your mean what you say.

 

Second, and most important, we are rapidly approaching the November election that can bring this insanity to a halt.  Spend time learning about the candidates in your area.  Be sure that those we send to Washington are better, much better, then the ones we are kicking out.  Make them understand the rules have changed as well.  Don’t let them have the time to be corrupted like the others have. 

 

Finally, please remember, I’m not talking about only Liberals.  There are Republicans that need to go just as badly as any Democrats.  As I’ve said so many times,  FIRE CONGRESS!!  THE ROOKIES CAN DO NO WORSE!
