Recently, our elected leaders chose to complete the process of forcing President Obama’s dream of universal Healthcare down the throats of the American people, whether they wanted it or not. Just for the record, they do not.
The team of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid twisted enough arms, bought enough voted, bribed enough people, and generally intimidated enough law makers to finally allow this atrocity to become a law of the land. A law that We The People will now have to live with unless we are intelligent enough to kick out those that have betrayed us, and replace them with a new group that is made up of people we can trust to undo what they have done to us. If it can be undone, that is.
In order to do this We The People, regardless of party, must come together in November and find the right people to do the job. We only have a little over five months to maintain our resolve. Five short months to remain active and informed. Five months to gain the momentum that will literally change the landscape of Washington politics in order to start us on the path that can return us to the ways of our founders. Five critical months that will actually make or break the backbone of our country.
To assist in maintaining that resolve, let me bring you some facts that just came to light last week about Obama’s utopian healthcare plan. Remember all his promises about the cost of the plan, and the promises of ‘no new taxes’ and no tax increases on anyone making less then $200,000.00 dollars a year? Well according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) this might be just a little bit off the mark.
The information below was taken from that report. The report was issued by the CMS Chief Actuary Richard S. Foster. It vindicates the many of us that have been shouting at the top of our lungs about the cost of this folly for months on end.
Just for starters, the so called healthcare ‘reform’ law will increase the costs dramatically, overall, and will cause millions of seniors to actually lose their current coverage.
Here are just a few of the CMS findings that may interest you:
• National healthcare expenditures will increase by $311 Billion in the next ten years. [page 4]
• Healthcare will increase to 21% of GDP by 2019 – up from 18% currently. [page 37]
• ObamaCare spends more than $828 Billion for healthcare coverage. (CMS did not analyze all tax increases, such taxes on Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, etc.) [page 4]
• The government will spend $410 Billion to expand Medicaid. [page 4]
• Medicaid enrollment will increase by 20 Million new beneficiaries. [pages 3-4]
• 14 Million people will lose their employer-sponsored health coverage. [pages 7-8]
• 18 Million people will still be uninsured (excluding illegal immigrants). [page 8]
• Fines on individuals and employers who do not purchase insurance will increase tax revenue by $120 Billion. [page 5]
• 50% of seniors will lose their Medicare Advantage plans. [page 11]
• Doctors may drop out of Medicare because of the changes in Medicare reimbursement rates. [page 10]
• Medicare “savings” outlined in the new law “face a significant risk of failure.” [page 15]

So, what does this all mean to you. My personal problem is that we, as a nation, were lied to by what should be the three top leaders in our land. Not just once, but over and over again from each of them. This is what I find so very hard to accept. Despite all their repeated promises, President Obama and the rest of the far left Liberal crew, have chosen to enact a healthcare law that will escalate healthcare costs, raise taxes dramatically in vain attempts to cover their losses, and cause many to loose what health insurance they have now. All this, and probably much more we haven’t been made aware of, all because their prized political agenda is far more important to them then the American people they work for.
We The People deserve better. We deserve elected leaders that actually concern themselves with what is best for the people they serve. Leaders that really listen to what we expect from them, and follow through on obtaining it for us. We deserve the ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ promised us, as our right, by our founders.
Do not misunderstand the fact that I strongly agree that we need changes in our healthcare laws in order to better serve us all. We need to make healthcare more readily available to all, and we need to be sure that it remains the best quality possible. However, the last organization in the world I want to run this healthcare is the United States Government. Frankly, I’d rather it were run by the original Three Stooges. Point is there are other ways to do this, and those ways need to be considered while we still have the time. This, of course, assumes we still do have the time. Stay on the backs of your Congressmen and Senators. Write the White House daily, if you can, or weekly if you don’t have that kind of time, but do not let up on them. There are other bills waiting in the wings that will make this look like a walk in the park. Do not let up.
Fire congress, and the President. The rookies can do no worse!
