Today I read an AP article that talked about the uselessness of the Tea Party movement in this country. It was by the Washington political editor of the service. As if that would be any surprise, in itself. As I read the article, many things came to mind. The Tea Party, the corruption in our government, and the corruption that has found its way into our media as well, just to list a few.
We, as Americans, should be decidedly saddened that the media, once a gallant watch dog for the interests of the people of this country, have sunk to printing articles such as this, simply because they hold some kind of perverted false loyalty to the Liberal wing in Washington. One can only ask the question, ‘why?’ Exactly what have the Liberals done to deserve this, seemingly ‘puppy dog’ like loyalty? The vast majority if Americans would have great respect, as in the past, for a media that would report the news to us without their own slant, one way or another. Tell us the truth, and let us, the people, make up our own mind. We do not need them, or the government, telling us what we should think.
The article I’m speaking of came from an On-line source, and talked in great length of the minimal impact that the Tea Party movement has had on the leanings of the public toward politicians, and their abilities to be reelected in November. It went on, and on, about the ‘fact’ that the Tea Party has done nothing to move along the Republican, or the Conservative, agendas as it was intended to do. While this was the entire intent of the author of the article, he went on for nearly three pages to attempt to make his point. The terrible part is that he missed the point altogether. The Tea Party movement, while decidedly Conservative, is far less concerned about a party agenda, then it is about setting the record straight on who, exactly, works for who. A notion that seems lost on both our congress and our President.
As I read, somewhere around the third or forth paragraph, the purpose of the writing became crystal clear. It surely did not require three pages. No, this was little more then ‘disinformation’ being spread by one of the most Liberal of lapdogs, in an open, and blatant, attempt to reduce the actual impact of the Tea Party movement in this country. A movement that has awakened a very significant number of voters to the open corruption in our nations capitol. Strangely enough, at least to the articles author, would be the fact that these Tea Party members are not only Conservative Republicans, but they are made up of a noticeable cross section of the population, regardless of party affiliation. While Conservative Republicans do make up the majority, there are also Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, and oddly enough, even a few Liberals have come to realize that what is going on in Washington needs corrected.
The important point is that all of them have realized that the corruption in politics has reached epidemic proportions. They have also realized the fact that this corruption, not only reaches to the very top of the tree, but is being spread from that point far more then any other source, including Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Even they are beginning to realize that the three most powerful people in this country seem to be doing everything they can to destroy the country.
From their seats of influence they have taken over industry in our country. A first in this capitalist nation. They have wastefully spent more money, that we do not have, in the first year then all previous Administrations combined. Combined!! With what result? This country, thanks to this administration, owes so much money to other countries that it is now impossible, according to many experts, to pay it off within the next eight to ten generations. And, only then if the country reduces spending by at least 50%.
They have forced upon this country a health care bill that has ramifications we can only guess at. The one thing that is not a guess, where this bill is concerned, is the cost. My best understanding of this is that it will cost this country approximately $10,000,000,000,000.00 in order to insure less then 5% of our population. Much less then that if you remove the illegal aliens from the mix. My goodness!!! That’s $ONE TRILLION per 0.5% of the population. I really think I could find them a cheaper insurance company if I really set my mind to it.
These are only a few of the reason all of this wide variety of political views are coming together for the good of the country we all love. Do they have an impact? You bet they do! They are impacting elections that will occur between now and the one we all are looking forward to in November. They are reaching many of the politicians that are considering running, and many that hope for reelection. They are even having an impact in Washington where new legislation is being much more carefully considered then it has been in many years. They are seeing positive results in what it took Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid, not to mention the President to get the health care bill passed. Never have they had to put so much on the line for a single bill.
So, with the impact they have already had, and the influence available to them, what do they do now? Now it is time that the people of this country realize the fact that those in Washington work for us. Not the other way around. That those we elect, are elected to support OUR wishes, not their own agenda. The real intent of the entire Tea Party movement is to remind the population that we have, not only, the right, but the responsibility, to change what is wrong.
This can, and must, be done in a forceful, yet a completely non-violent manor. They need to make their case where ever there are people to listen. This includes the lawmakers they send, and have sent, to Washington. They need to understand that We The People will never forget what they have done, either to us or for us. They need to improve their numbers, but also their message.
There are only seven months left to us, and we must see to it that the November election makes a statement that will not only be heard, but, one that will be remembered as long as we wish to be free.
